If it take 21 days to build a habit, I think it takes 100 to fundamentally change a personal trait or build a foundation towards mastery of a new skill. 100 can be temporal (days, hours, ...)or units (workouts, paintings, meals) iterations with some caveats.
It is the milestone that our mind uses to decide if this thing is important or we can dismiss it as an anomaly to otherwise set of skills and habits.
100 keeps coming up as a milestone.
